Founded in 1962, the South Devon Accommodation Group (formerly known as the Bridge Group) is a long‑established collective of independent holiday accommodation providers across the English Riviera. Our membership includes hotels, guest houses, bed & breakfasts and self‑catering properties, along with life and social members who continue to support the group and its community.
The group was originally formed as a buying association, allowing local businesses to work together and strengthen their position. Over time, our role has evolved. Today we focus on supporting members, sharing knowledge, promoting quality accommodation and helping visitors discover authentic places to stay across South Devon.
We exist to champion independent accommodation and provide a trusted alternative to large chain hotels. Every member property is individually owned and operated, offering a more personal and locally informed experience for guests.
By working collectively, our members benefit from shared resources, negotiated supplier arrangements, joint promotion and professional support while guests benefit from trusted standards and genuine hospitality.
With over 100 member businesses and more than 200 individual members, the group remains rooted in cooperation and mutual support. Many members have been part of the organisation for years, contributing to its continuity and local knowledge.
We continue to adapt to changes in the tourism landscape while maintaining our founding principle — independent businesses working together to strengthen the visitor experience in South Devon.
